Lend me your ears!

This might be my favorite part of Disney—the Mickey ears.

There are so many different styles and themes that you can really go one of two ways: stick with the traditional Disney parks route and only buy official ears, or go full collector mode and find cute versions anywhere and everywhere.

I completely understand the appeal of the official Disney ears you can only get in the parks or on their site—but for us, especially with a 6-year-old sharing them, $35 per pair didn’t really make sense. Instead, I found a ton of cute, comfortable, and affordable options online that let us match different ears with different outfits for each park day (see my packing method post for how I organize this).

Classic Mickey (and Minnie) Styles

Let’s start with the basics.

You’ve got the classic Mickey and Minnie ears:

  • Black and red styles
  • With or without sparkles
  • Matching scrunchies and headbands

Then you start seeing variations on the classics—pink versions, polka dots, and different textures that still feel very “Disney,” just with a bit more personality.

Add in the original character themes and you’ll also find things like Goofy hats, scrunchies, and holiday editions (especially fun for Halloween and Christmas parties).

Characters & Themes Galore

This is where things really expand.

You can find just about anything:

  • Disney princess ears (all of them)
  • Villains
  • Animal sidekicks
  • Pixar characters

Honestly, if you can think of it, it probably exists somewhere. Yes—even Forky from Toy Story 4.

I’ll link as many of these categories as I can below so you can browse easily.

How We Use Them in the Parks

For packing, I pre-planned each outfit with matching ears and packed them together in a ziplock bag for each day. That made mornings much easier.

We usually start the day wearing them, and then depending on comfort (or how intense the rides get), we take them off throughout the day.

This is where accessories really help—especially a backpack clip or ear holder. I found a keychain-style clip that attaches to my bag, which lets us remove ears on rides but keep them secure so they don’t get lost or damaged.

This is how I packed my kid’s outfits each day, including all clothing items, matching ears, and a tag with which park we were visiting that day.

Storage & Display at Home

There are so many creative ways to store Disney ears when you’re not using them.

Some people turn them into wall displays, which looks amazing if you have the space. We don’t, so I went with a more compact storage system—different ear holders that still let you see them while keeping them organized.

I originally bought a headband holder thinking it would be enough to store my daughter’s ears… but I quickly realized I was the one who couldn’t stop collecting them. So I bought a hanging version, and now they live in my closet. I have zero regrets—they make me happy every time I see them, and they’re always ready for the next trip.
